Your Unborn Face

This is a fragmented post I wrote late one night. It’s made up of different conversations I had with friends, namely Nick and Tim. Also talks I shared with my wife.

I was thinking the other day of Beau’s conception.

Not like the actual act of conceiving Beau, although that was great also!

I was discussing something pertaining to Beau being born then we got on the topic of how he was born.

Then we had a 7th grade biology quiz and talked about just how wild it is that part of me merged with part of her to create a third some-thing. Something kind of like each of us but also entirely it’s own.

It was then that I began to think of this conception in a different and more mystical/cosmic way. That not only was it part of me and part of her. That’s literally true and far out in it’s own way.

What’s juicier is that it was all Beau the whole time, yet it wasn’t… but it was.
There’s a Zen idea of being-ness and soul that calls this “the Face you had before you were born”.

I like that.

The self is found in these disparate areas of the world that we unite with to complete our full “selves”. How much sweeter does that make the whole Story? That I’m meeting myself when I meet another because something of my Self is being revealed to me. And that makes the Body of Christ so much bigger — the idea of a Big “B” Body being a bunch of interdependent pieces making a Whole. And that Body IS the Whole.

I am in you and you are in Me.

And that’s why I can say — YOU’RE IT (Alan Watts speaks of this a lot as the Cosmic Hide-and-Seek… That God shows up as God’s-self in the faces and bodies and lives of those we see Christ consciousness and Christ-like behaviors which we witness, receive and are raptured by)!
AND SO AM I!
I think Jesus (like other gurus, but still I can’t get past Jesus’ special THISness– his unique way of revealing God) just held a GIGANTIC mirror up to those he met and on the mirror it said “You’re It!” And as we’re reconnecting to ourselves by this uniting, we realize, THERE WAS NO SEPARARATION. There was no fracture or chasm between us and Oneness/God. There was no lack. Because God also, like ourselves, is revealed/made known as we find ourselves. God BECOMES. Just as we’re becoming.

But God also is then known to have been hiding in plain site the whole time.

What was your face before you were born?

Beau was created when my sperm part met Kirsten’s egg part, or so we think usually. That’s where the magic of creating happens. There’s this collision that creates the event of Beau intelligently.

I think I carried Beau while Kirsten carried Beau, though. This consciousness blossomed in both of us. There was a cosmic tidal pull — a magnetic and energetic pulse of life attracted to itself. That Beau as he is could not be Beau without me… or without Kirsten. This is a mild dip of the toe into the Big Juicy Story.

What if this same process occurs in us as well to this day? What if we’re “becoming”? What if God is, too?
